GRUNDOCRACK™ Pneumatic Pipe Bursting System

The GRUNDOCRACK™ Advantage

90% of all the pipe bursting in North America is completed using a pneumatic system. Grundocrack has replaced more than all other systems combined. Superior quality materials and unparalleled experience combine to form Grundocrack the most successful system for the Pipebursting® procedure of all time.

Versatility
Each Grundocrack tool is effective in bursting a wide range of pipe diameters through the use of a variety of expanders.
Models
Twenty-one Grundocrack models, including 6 straight-barrel auto-reverse tools, from 5-inch (127-mm) through 32-inch (609-mm) diameter, are available.
Product Pipe
The Grundocrack can burst and replace a wide range of fracturable pipes and install new HDPE pipe, size for size or upsize, simultaneously.

Guide Head
Cutting blades on guide heads help the Grundocrack to burst through difficult host pipes like cast iron, as well as many point repairs.
Construction
The Grundocrack tool head and casing are made from a solid block of alloy steel for optimum strength and durability.

What it Does

Solid Block Head

Unlike other pneumatic tools, each Grundocrack tool head and casing are made from a solid block of alloy steel for optimum strength and durability.
Burst and replace 4-inch through 54-inch diameter water, sewer, gas and electrical lines. Failing pipe can be replaced with same size or larger diameter pipes.

How it Works

A constant-tension Grundowinch guides the tool through failing pipe. The Grundocrack percussive action bursts the existing pipe. An expander displaces remaining fragments into the surrounding soil. New product pipe is simultaneously pulled in behind the Grundocrack bursting tool.

Expand Your Knowledge of the Pipebursting® Procedure

Each tool is effective in bursting a wide range of pipe diameters through the use of a variety of expanders. For replacing lateral connections, there's a Grundocrack tool that is small enough to be launched from the confined space of a manhole. The Grundocrack can pull in a variety of replacement pipe, including polyethylene, PVC, and fiberglass.
