The 7-inch All-Weather touch screen puts critical operational information at the operator’s fingertips. The operator can select the appropriate drill mode and thrust and pullback levels, grease intervals and more.
A new multi-positional seat mount puts all the controls within easy reach of the operator, while the ergonomic design offers comfort and helps lessen fatigue.
The unit features a Tier 4F, 56hp Kohler engine, a single push button stake down system and independent front and rear lift. The advance drilling system ensures accurate, on-target boring in all types of soil and jobsite conditions.
With 12,000 lbs. (48 kN) of thrust and pullback and 1,200 lbf/ft (1,627 Nm) of torque the Grundodrill 5X has the power for a significant range of installation projects, beyond the typical compact directional drill. Its highly compact design makes it ideal for “last mile” operations in residential neighborhoods, along with service line and main installations for gas and water.
The Grundodrill 5X comes with a removable drill rod magazine with a capacity for 200 feet of drill rod. An optional magazine with 250 feet of drill rod is also available.
The 5X’s new rubber tracks are quieter, easier on lawns and landscapes and offer excellent traction and durability, all while minimizing potential damage to concrete and turf.
The onboard 10 gpm high pressure drill fluid pump is ideal for lateral and service line installations. For main gas and water main installation, a 20 gpm model is available.
A user-friendly, wireless handheld remote allows the operator to easily move the GRUNDODRILL 5X and quickly align the drill for operation.
Rear trailer mounts offer the option for a tool cart, tag-a-long water tank or other platform or carrier.
The Grundodrill 5X can be quickly positioned for the optimum entry angle for drilling operations. Independent front and rear boom lift allows the operator to establish an optimum entry angle (between 11-17 degrees) without lifting the drill frame.
