Pipe Clean-out is Fast, Effective

Pipe clean-out with ramming requires minimal additional equipment. In fact, the air compressor used to power the Grundoram is used to expel the spoils. Once a seal-off plate is installed on one end of the casing, air pressure builds inside the casing and forces the spoils out. As with any process using compressed air, extreme caution should always be used to keep workers away from the exit area.

Augers Work, Too

Larger casings clean-out especially well with augers. This is good news for contractors that already own this type of equipment.

Slick-Bore

During the slick-bore process the product pipe is welded to the back end of an installed bore pipe. A winch is connected to the lead end of the bore pipe and is used to pull the casing out. As the bore pipe is removed the product pipe is pulled into place. In this scenario, the bore pipe is installed with a pneumatic pipe rammer.

Once the product pipe is installed, the bore pipe can be used again for the next slick-bore.

Slick-boring also limits the amount of stress placed on the product pipe, which is of concern to project owners. The bore pipe ends up taking to brunt of impact from the ramming in tough soil conditions and spoil clean out. Through ramming it can also be installed very accurately. The product pipe is pulled into its ideal position without being subjected high levels of stress.

	PULLBACK ASSIST Overcome hydrolock with a pipe rammer. Rammer attached to product pipe during pullback. Percussive action keeps pipe moving and helps prevent high levels of pullback stress. Percussive power frees immobilized product pipes.
	BORE SALVAGE Remove stuck product pipe and bore again. Rammer attached to product pipe after pullback fails. Percussive action pulls product pipe, removing it from the bore. Salvage the job and bore again.
	DRILL STEM RECOVERY Retrieve Stuck Drill Stems. Pipe Rammer fitted with a special sleeve. Stuck drill stem welded to the back of the rammer sleeve. Percussive power frees drill stem, saving time and money.
