Typical Grundomat® Setup
The most accurate horizontal boring tool
Rule of Thumb: The rule of thumb safe working depth of a bore from the surface and width from subsurface utilities can be easily calculated. Multiply the tool's diameter by 10 for proper depth from the surface and by 4 for the safe width (lateral distance) subsurface obstructions.
12 models of Grundomat piercing tools are available in diameters ranging from 1 3/4 inches to 7 inches. They are easily launched by hand, or from a starting cradle. Accessories like the Grundoscope Telescopic Aiming frame and surveyor stick, starting cradle and smart level are available to ensure the Grundomat reaches the target on line and grade.

Pipe Extraction
The Grundomat is also easily configured for pipe pushing (extraction) applications. During pipe extraction, a pipe-pushing adapter is placed on the front of the piercing tool. The tool's percussive force is then used to literally drive out an existing service line.

Pipe Pulling
The Grundomat can also be easily configured for pipe pulling applications. Several pipe pulling clamps and adapters are available for pulling a wide variety of pipes including PVC, HDPE, copper and steel.
